So far we have members of all abilities and interests. We have a WhatsApp group to keep you up to date with everyone’s movements, successes, and plans.

The Golfing Society is very active as the Fixture List for 2020 demonstrates. We have matches, meetings and team events at fantastic courses including Sunningdale, Royal St Georges, Deal, Formby, Hunstanton, Brancaster, Aldeburgh, Woodhall Spa, Little Aston and Woking.
Although the team events such as the Halford Hewitt, Grafton Morrish and Cyril Gray require low handicap players, male and female golfers of all standards are very welcome at the meetings and matches.
We are keen to attract younger Old Stoic golfers. All those under 30 qualify for a 50% reduction in the cost of green fees at all meetings and matches.
For the weekend meetings, efforts will also be made to provide free or low cost accommodation.

The Old Stoic Racing Club (OSRC) is now in its fourth season and we are delighted to have horses in training with two Old Stoic trainers. Jonathan Portman (Chatham 83) is our flat trainer in Lambourn and whilst Alex Hales (Chandos 92) overseeing the jumps just on the outskirts of Banbury.
The Club has received wide support with past pupils, parents, their friends plus the occasional staff member of Stowe all involved with leaving years of the pupils represented from 1954-2004.
Whilst both Racing Clubs are currently full, we are actively looking for past pupils and parents in particular to help us form new syndicates. Therefore if you would like to be put on the mailing list then please contact the Old Stoic office.
A flavour of what owners can expect to receive:
This good looking daughter of Great Pretender has been leased to the Racing Club. She has finished third out of four runs in national hunt flast races including in the eagerly contested Mares Listed Finale at Kempton. She will be aimed over hurdles in the autumn and should be more than capable of winning one. ear Banbury – we are excited about how she will progress. The Racing Club is also delighted that Harry Bannister (Chatham 12) will be her regular jockey when available.
This filly is a daughter of Pearl Secret who was a winner and runner up in the Temple Stakes (Group 2) at Haydock and placed both at Royal Ascot and Longchamp. Her dam Jessie’s Spirit was three times a winner over six and seven furlongs. ‘Sheila’ has made great strides since joining the yard and the plan would be to start her in a six furlong race.
This good looking colt is a son of French Navy out of Alice’s Dancer. His dam won six races and just shy of £50,000 in prize money with her career high finishing third in the Listed Prix Fourrages in Craon over 1 mile.
French Navy is standing at Darley Stud but he had a strong race record. During an illustrious career he notched 11 wins from 23 races including the Diomed Stakes (Group 3) and the Earl of Sefton Stakes (Group 3). He will be someone at races from 1 mile upwards and we are excited about his future.
