Netball is the key girls sport in the Lent Term. There are a number of teams within each age group throughout the school giving all girls the opportunity to improve their game, whether it be on a participation or competitive level. We welcome all abilities and believe that the coaching structure at Stowe will help all players reach their full potential.

Opportunity for Participation

  • Netball is a key sport for girls in the Lent term, although pre-season sessions also occur throughout the Michaelmas term.
  • Every single girl who attends Stowe School will participate in the netball programme in the first and second years, and most girls choose to continue with this major game throughout their whole time at Stowe.
  • In Lent term we have A-D teams at U14, U15 and senior level, involving over 170 girls, who all play block fixtures every Saturday.
  • Our coaching team is strong and experienced and we have recently recruited a new first team coach who is also the Wasps U17 coach.
  • All Junior teams train at least twice a week in the Lent term, the Seniors three times a week and there is the opportunity for all ages to train once a week in the Michaelmas term.
  • There are also a number of midweek matches, with the inclusion of matches against teams from the senior Milton Keynes League.
  • The inter-house netball competition takes place in the Lent term and gives every student the opportunity to take part in Netball at a good level.
  • Fun matches and tournaments against the staff and boys are also included in the Michaelmas and Lent term.
