Restoration Intern One-Sixth of a Mile Long

13 August 2015

Stowe House has the country’s longest enfilade of state rooms that runs from east to west for an impressive one sixth of a mile. When all its doors are open you can see from one end of the house to the other and the walkway makes it the perfect place for hosting parties, allowing guests to flow along the piano nobile.

As part of SHPT’s restoration programme this enfilade will be unified and returned to its original gold-leaf- adorned dignity.
