Meet the team

I'm Nick Morris, Chief Executive Officer of Stowe House Preservation Trust. I am responsible to the trustees for the strategic direction and operational management of the Trust, directing the restoration programme, enhancing the visitor experience and liaising with the National Trust and Stowe School. I was appointed as Operations Director at Stowe School in August 2009, I assumed the additional responsibilities of CEO of the Stowe House Preservation Trust in December of the same year. Having graduated from Durham University with a modern languages degree, I joined the Royal Air Force and rose to head the Logistics Profession before retiring to join Transport for London (TfL) as the Director responsible for London’s road network. Throughout my RAF career, I maintained an interest in the RAF’s history and, at an early stage, oversaw the refurbishment of the Museum of the RAF Regiment.

Hi, I’m Anna and I am the House Custodian. I’ve been working for SHPT since May 2005. I came as a newly funded post with a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and have been here ever since! For the last few years I have dealt purely with the historical research of Stowe House and to a lesser extent, Stowe School. This includes answering public inquiries, maintaining the 'Lost Treasures of Stowe' campaign, undertaking research for the current restoration projects, writing the archaeology reports for the State Rooms and looking after the archive. I still learn something new about Stowe every day!

Hi I'm Ruth (I'm the one on the right in the picture!), I am the Visitor Experience Manager at the House. I have a real passion for art, history and heritage and have plenty of experience from my time working in local country houses. I have been working in my role at Stowe since the beginning of 2010 although my first experience of Stowe was when I arrived as a volunteer in 2006 when I was just starting my undergraduate History of Art degree. It is my job to open the House to the public. My responsibilities are wide ranging; from deciding when we open the House, planning the visitor route, creating interpretation, looking after our volunteers, creating marketing information, designing brochures, programming events through to improving and continually improving the visitor experience at the House...amongst other things!

Hi I’m Sadie; I am the Visitor Experience Officer here at Stowe House. I began my time here as a volunteer in January 2016. Soon after the opportunity arose to join the staff team and I jumped at the chance to apply! I have always had a passion for heritage and the countryside, in particular country-house estates, this led to me reading Conservation and Heritage Management and then Countryside Management at The Royal Agricultural University. It is my job to assist Ruth, the Visitor Experience Manager, in the opening of the House, looking after our volunteers, recruiting new volunteers, the day-to-day operations of the House, customer care, retail offerings and much more to exceed our visitor’s expectations and provide an inspirational visitor experience.

Hi, Im Kelly! I’m the Community & Learning Officer at Stowe House. Natalie and I will be delivering creative educational sessions to complement the new Welcome Centre and experience. I work with local community groups, to increase their ownership on their local heritage at Stowe. Like Natalie, you can contact us for anything to do with community sessions at Stowe, from visiting local schools, children’s centres, young people, community-made art and exhibitions etc. I have previously worked in Oxford University Museums such as the Pitt Rivers, and have degrees in Geography with Anthropology, and Archaeology. I’m passionate about integrating multiple art forms into heritage education.

Hi, I am Linda and I am a Visitor Services Assistant and a volunteer. I am the Duty Manager when Ruth or Sadie are unavailable. I first joined the team as a volunteer in 2012 and enjoyed it from my first day. I have seen the Welcome and Discovery Centre come to fruition and I have helped to choose and develop the merchandise we stock. I have made some great friends while enjoying the history and wonder of Stowe House. My background is interior design and I am presently doing a Diploma in the History of Western Art. When time allows I enjoy walking the gardens of Stowe and photographing the wonderful longhorn cattle that live here.
