DaVinci Academic Decathlon

The Ampleforth trip for the DaVinci Academic Decathlon was a resounding success, with both teams performing admirably among a field of 15 teams spanning two age groups: Juniors (Years 7 & 8) and Intermediates (Years 9 & 10).

Originating in 2002 at Knox Grammar School,Sydney, the Da Vinci Decathlon aims to challenge and stimulate high-achieving students, now drawing thousands of participants
worldwide. The finals, scheduled for September in Oxford, have extended an invitation to Team B.
Team A, consisting of Joshua, Emily, Madison, Etana, Stirling, and Abby, displayed remarkable skills. Madison and Stirling excelled in the Chess challenge, while Emily B impressed the judges with her poetry and artistry, earning the team 8th place overall.

Meanwhile, Team B, comprised of Joe G, Lewis, Sophie, Lauren, Whistley, and Kasia, demonstrated exceptional teamwork and prowess, securing victories in English, Code Breaking, Engineering, Cartography, and Ideation. Their outstanding performance led to
them being crowned overall Junior Winners for the UK, with a remarkable score of 115 points.
