Stowe 10 Years Out Reunion

3 November 2018

0J4C3267

On Saturday 3 November, we welcomed 80 Old Stoics from the year of 2008 back to Stowe for their 10th Anniversary Reunion.

Our guests were clearly delighted to be back at Stowe and enjoyed catching up with friends from their time at the School, along with watching the Stowe 1st XV rugby team take on St Edward’s on the North Front. Others followed the action at Twickenham for the England versus South Africa match and those less interested in rugby chose to stroll around the grounds or catch up with members of staff from their day.

After the afternoon activities, our wonderful Catering team served a beautiful array of tasty hot snacks, sandwiches and cakes, which were gratefully received by our guests.  Nick Bayley, Former Head of Drama, very kindly escorted our guests around the School, allowing them to see the changes that have taken place since their time here.

James Tearle kindly laid on a display of his legendary magic tricks in the new Science Centre, much to the delight of the group.

With the weather dropping several degrees, our guests were happy to make their way back into the Marble Hall for the Drinks Reception. The Headmaster welcomed the group and kindly gave an entertaining speech, which included several anecdotes on some of the Old Stoics present. An informal supper was enjoyed in the Music Room, after which our guests departed to carry on their evening at a local pub.

We would like to thank everyone at Stowe for their help with the arrangements for this Reunion, especially the catering team who, once again, made every effort to ensure our guests enjoyed their visit.
