In 2021, Old Stoic Music and Art Scholar Poppy Baker (Cheshire 21) launched her portrait business Poppy Baker Art.

With a passion for art from a young age Poppy has always been fascinated by the human face, character, and personality - and expresses that through her portraiture. As well as portraits Poppy has also received many commissions to paint owner’s horses, dogs and other animals too.

Poppy is offering a special 20% discount on all portraits to this year's 2024 Stowe leavers and their families – in addition to her permanent 10% discount to all Old Stoics. An exclusive hand-painted portrait celebrating a Stoic’s final year can be so much more memorable than a digital photograph - and makes a great leaving gift.

Poppy’s process either involves meeting the client and taking a selection of photographs or - if preferred - Poppy can work directly from photographs provided by the client.

Portraits can be produced in a variety of sizes and mediums including pencil, charcoal, acrylic paint, oil paint and oil pastels, and can be based on paper or canvas – with other bases available on request.
