Restrictions are gradually easing and we are now hopeful that all our August to November fixtures will take place, even though some of the social aspects may be restricted.
Golfers have been very fortunate compared with nearly all other sports and hopefully you have all had opportunities to get out on the golf course during these strange times.

'Summer Meeting' - 4/5 July at Aldeburgh:
Although this meeting could not officially happen OSGS Aldeburgh members, Perry Hunt (President), Jeremy Scowsill and Ollie Carr played a 'friendly' foursomes match with Nick Luddington who was making a flying visit to see his Mother. The President and Jeremy were the winners over the 'youngsters', Nick and Ollie, with a superb putting display on the back 9 and are therefore announced as holders of the Summer Meeting Choyce Foursomes trophies. Ian Bendell and John Da Silva were also in the area and managed a round at Thorpeness on the Saturday and were blown round Aldeburgh on Sunday.
Fixtures Update:
- The Spring Meeting - New date - Saturday 22 August
Meeting Manager, Nick Luddington nicholasluddington@hotmail.co.uk would like to hear from anyone who wants to play in this meeting on Saturday 22 August.
There are 16 players entered so far and Nick can take up to 20. Those down to play are Nick Luddington, Paul McSeeney, Josh Wheeler, Ian Bendell, William Hill, Jim Marshal Andrew, Jack Scott, David Ewbank, Nigel Wright, Tom Young (OSGS debut), James Scott (Meeting debut), John Da Silva, David Hinds, Chris Hutber, Adam Carling and Peter Simmons. We will have to wait to see what refreshment arrangements are available. We are particularly keen that more Under 30s enter to give Tom Young and James Scott some added competition for the Foster Salver
- Match v Old Gregorians - Sat 29 August at New Zealands:
Contact Match Manager, Ian Bendell ianbendell@hotmail.com if you would like to play in this 8-a-side match. So far Ian, OSGS Captain, David Ewbank and Martyn Palmer have expressed interest. New Zealand have recently sent through arrangements for the day and are looking forward to our visit.
- Match v Stowe Golf Club - Date tbc in Sept at Stowe: New Match
We have been contacted by Stowe Golf Club to have a match on the New Course at Stowe. The date is not confirmed as yet but I hope to have this sorted soon.
- Match v The School at Stoke Park - date tbc:

- Dick Watson Trophy at Aldeburgh - 10/11 October
Although this 4 player foursomes team event is likely to take place in some format confirmation is yet to be received. Jeremy Scowsill jeremyscowsill@btconnect.com will Captain the team which is likely to include OSGS Vice Captain, William Hill, Nigel Wright and Ian Bendell.
- Autumn Meeting - 24/25 October at Hunstanton:
Entries for this two day meeting have been received from Neil Gray, Ollie Carr, Matt Bazeley, Tim Maynard, John Da Silva, David Ewbank, Peter Simmons, Jim Marshal Andrew and Mark Flawn Thomas. I will be reserving a few rooms at the Heacham Manor Hotel but the location of the Saturday night dinner cannot be finalised until there is a clearer idea of Hospitality Regulations in late October.Contact me if you want to play pjgsimmons@gmail.com
