RESULTS:
Summer Meeting at Aldeburgh
As ever Perry Hunt organised an excellent meeting at Aldeburgh. The Saturday night dinner at the refurbished Golf Club with the addition of several non-golfing Old Stoics was a positive addition and it was good to see some old faces (Roy and Andrew Hinds) and some newcomers (John Da Silva and Chris Hutber) along with the regular attendees. The Society beat the Club in the Friday afternoon warm up 3-1, Chris Luddington won the Buchanan Scratch Trophy and David Ewbank the stableford prize on Saturday morning with Jeremy Scowsill and William Hill yet again clear winners of the Choyce and Chatham Foursomes trophies on Sunday. This is a superb meeting and while attendance was higher this year there is room for many more.

Tour of the New Stowe Golf Course - 15 September
Hopefully all of you will have received an invitation to attend the Old Stoic Day on Sept 15th and after lunch have a special tour of the new golf course. By September much of the construction will be completed and you will get a clear picture of the aesthetic and golfing quality of the new course adjacent to the Bourbon Fields. The Headmaster and Andrew Hancox, Director of Golf, will provide full details on the School's ambitions to offer the finest school course in the country so golf can continue to develop at Stowe. I understand that at least 20 have already signed up but we are keen for a good turn out from the Society.
In case you have not received either a postal or email invitation from the Old Stoic Society click here to view.

Match v The School at Stoke Park, 26 September
Scheduled arlier in the year so we can get round before it is dark with a 2pm tee off time. This match is played courtesy of Chester King at Stoke Park and we are keen for younger players to make up the team. So far our Captain, Nick Luddington, Alex Saary, making a welcome return and the Secretary are down to play. Three more players needed. Contact pjgsimmons@gmail.com if you would like to play.
