On Sunday 14 April 2019, Old Stoics living in the Far South West gathered for lunch at the Hotel du Vin, Exeter, for a delicious four-course Sunday lunch.

We were delighted to bring together guests from the far reaches of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset for the lunch, which was kindly organised by our OS Representative for the Far South West, Matt Steggles (Chandos 93).

The afternoon began with a jovial drinks reception, followed by a delicious lunch which left everyone full to the brim. John Dobinson (Former staff,1966-1990) kindly said a short Grace at the start of the meal and Oliver Colvile (Bruce 77) offered a word of thanks. Anna Semler (Nugent 05) presented Matt Steggles with a bottle of Old Stoic Society Sparkling Wine as a gesture of thanks for his help and enthusiasm.  Patrick Ellis (Bruce 48) kindly offered copies of his book, Living the Dream: Tales of a Hunting Man to those who were interested in reading about his life.

We intend to repeat the lunch in 2021 in the South Hams regions of Devon and would encourage all Old Stoics who live in the Far South West or enjoy visiting the region regularly to join us for the occasion.
