OS Careers Networking Drinks

On Thursday 9 June, we were delighted to hold our inaugural Careers’ Networking Reception at the Lansdowne Club, Mayfair. We welcomed over fifty Old Stoics, made of up recent leavers and OS mentors giving careers advice. It was a resounding success, with excellent feedback from those who attended. The recent leavers were delighted to be given the opportunity to build their professional network and take informal advice from Old Stoics working in industries of interest to them.

Mid way through the evening, a collection of speeches were presented to our guests. The OS Chairman, Jonathon Hall (Bruce 79) opened the address, followed by Paul Burgess (Cobham 89) who spoke on interview tips. Richard Hopkinson-Woolley (Chandos 87) gave advice on making the most of a career mentor and Kristjan Byfield (Grafton 98) gave tips for entrepreneurs. The Headmaster, Dr Anthony Wallersteiner gave a brief roundup of news from Stowe. We were delighted with the success of the event and intend to hold this event regularly for our members.
