James Rudkin (Walpole 12) has been named in the Great Britain Eight for the World Rowing Cup I in Belgrade next weekend.

Great Britain will send a 43-strong squad to Belgrade for the first World Rowing Cup of the season between 5-7 May, with a mix of returning Olympians and exciting young talent set to test themselves on the international stage. This follows the very competitive racing in pairs and singles at the GB Rowing Team Senior and U23 Trials over the Easter weekend.

In August 2016, James achieved his ambition of winning a world medal at the World Rowing U23 Championships in Rotterdam.  He then took part in his fourth Worlds for Great Britain last Setmeber, since his Junior World Championships as a Stoic in 2012.

More recently, James has been in training with the GB rowing team at Caversham, aspiring to the Olympic team in 2020.

Best of luck to James and his team mates from all at Stowe.
