Girls Hockey U14 County Champions!

31 October 2017

The Stowe U14 hockey team are Buckinghamshire County Champions!
At the County Cup final at Stowe on Wednesday 18 October, they defeated Thornton 4-0, with 2 goals a piece from Violet Arkwright (Queen’s) and Lucy Mehta (Nugent) with Lucy awarded ‘Player of the Game’ for her tenacity. In the second game against Great Marlow School they won 2-1 with a goal from Violet and Isla Holman-West (Nugent), who was the ‘Player of the Game’ with incredible pace on the right wing to break the defensive line. Finally they defeated a strong Sir William Borlaise team 2-0 with a goal from our key strikers Lucy and Violet and the ‘Players of the Game’ were Jemima Howden (Stanhope) and Bella Lloyd (Lyttelton) for creating attacking many opportunities. The ‘Player of the Tournament’ was Ottilie Hewlett (Nugent) for her composure in defence giving the team enormous confidence and our captains Lauren Yeowart (Nugent) and Fleur Fenwicke-Clennell (Queen’s) led by example on the pitch with superb work rate. The success however is due to their collective efforts with each player showing commitment to the team and we are really proud of them all, We can now look forward to the Regional Heats on 14 November.
