GCSE Exam Results 2019

23 August 2019

Stoics-in-Uniform-(23)_1

Once again Stoics can celebrate achieving what is a strong set of GCSE results.

Stowe now uses the new 1-9 exams in most subjects, although there are still letter grades for Further Maths, Latin and the Higher Project Qualification. Well over a quarter of total grades achieved were at 8-9 or A*, with just under half achieving at grade 7-9 or A*/A. All pupils in the School achieved at least five pass grades. Impressively, fifteen students achieved a full ten grades at 7/A or above and a total of 38 students (just over a quarter of the cohort) scored at least eight grades at 7-9 or A*/A.

Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Sports Science, Geography, History, Philosophy & Religion,  Music, Design, French, EAL, Greek, Latin, Chinese and Russian have seen especially strong performances, with over half of all grades awarded being at grade 7/A or above.

These grades reflect the hard work of both the students and the teachers here at Stowe. They have given themselves a strong platform for their further studies and they deserve to be warmly congratulated!
