Silver Award at the SOMOs

19 October 2022

Stowe and Change 100 are thrilled to have received the Silver Award at the UK Social Mobility Awards 2022.

The UK Social Mobility Awards were set up to recognise organisations that are prioritising social mobility, for example through recruitment processes and progression programmes, outreach within the local community, or by developing innovative ways to create change.

The award recognises Change 100’s ambition and implementation of the bursary programme. This September, just the second year of Change 100, saw a further 10 children receiving fully funded bursaries across The Stowe Group.  A key area that led to this recognition was the innovative creation of the Change 100 Ambassadors – the Stowe pupils who lead and support Change 100 amongst the pupil cohort. On Saturday 15 October, a group of Ambassadors travelled to one of our Partners, The Eastside Young Leaders Academy, to build a closer relationship and talk about life at Stowe.

Tunde Banjoko OBE, Founder of The UK Social Mobility Awards, added:

“The UK Social Mobility Awards is a vehicle to raise awareness of social mobility and showcases the individuals and organisations who are dedicated to its advancement. The number and quality of entries we received for this year’s awards is an indication of the increasing significance of social mobility to UK business. I would like to congratulate all the inspiring organisations and individuals who took home a trophy this year. All the UK Social Mobility Awards finalists are making a tangible difference to social mobility in this country and this recognition is extremely well-deserved.”
