Life before Stowe

I joined Stowe in 2008. Previously I was Head of Physical Education and Girls' Games at St Edward's Oxford. Prior to this I was a teacher of Physical Education at Downe House in Berkshire and Highworth Grammar School for Girls' in Kent following a BA degree at Exeter University.

What do you enjoy most about your subject?

I enjoy teaching pupils how to apply the diverse theory of Sports Science to their own sporting performance whilst also enhancing their appreciation of what is involved in becoming an elite athlete.

What do you most enjoy about Stowe?

I enjoy teaching the Stoics and seeing them flourish. I feel lucky to also work in such beautiful surroundings, and particularly enjoy the opportunity to go for training runs around the grounds and family walks.

What is your favourite Lesson?

I currently specialise in Exercise Physiology and, in particular, I enjoy teaching the pupils about VO2 max and anaerobic threshold by getting them to see how long they can run on the treadmill at the marathon world record pace!

What do others say about you?

I hope to be perceived as friendly, enthusiastic teacher with high standards....

I am the coach of the U14A hockey, U14B VII Netball and U14 tennis teams

Passions

I love spending family time with our children Emily and Ben especially surfing in Cornwall and camping in France. I am also a triathlete, competing in the World and European Triathlon Championships for the GB age-group team as well as completing the Race to the Tower Ultra.
