Life before Stowe
After a very sporty childhood spanning California and Wigan I went to Loughborough University to study Maths and Sports Science. From there I have enjoyed a rich and varied Maths teaching career including several other roles such as Head of Rugby at Loughborough Grammar School, Houseparent at Welbeck Military College and Head of House at The King’s School Grantham.

What do you enjoy most about your subject?

Maths promotes logical and structured thinking to solve problems which can help you in all aspects of life. 

What do you enjoy most about Stowe?

The extra-curricular sporting opportunities are ideal for myself and my family. Whether it be rugby, cricket, squash or golf there is always a match to watch or play. I love to compete so to have a constant platform to help develop young athletes in such a beautiful setting is fantastic.

What is your favourite Lesson?

I always enjoy teaching Mechanics to A level pupils particularly ‘Moments’ as this applied branch of the subject can involve so many practical demonstrations and the students can really get involved in the lesson.
