Mrs Mairi Johnstone

Mairi is Chief Executive Officer of the Methodist Ministers' Housing Society, a charity which operates in GB, NI, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. She looks after a large property portfolio as well as the housing and wellbeing needs of retired Methodist ministers. Mairi is also a non-executive director of CAF Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Charities Aid Foundation. The bank handles the banking needs of charities and not-for-profit organisations based in the UK. She sits on the Bank’s Audit Committee. Mairi also serves as a Licensed Lay Minister in the London Diocese of the Church of England.

Mairi studied law at the University of Glasgow and practiced Scottish law before moving to London where she qualified in English law too. She developed specialisms in commercial property investment and development, property finance and banking law.

Mairi is a life-long learner. She has enjoyed gaining qualifications needed for roles, as well as ones acquired simply through a love of learning. Her most recent qualification is as a corporate governance expert.

Mairi has three adult children. She is a Friend of the Royal Academy of Arts and a Member of Kew Gardens.
