Life before Stowe

I did a undergraduate degree in History focusing mainly on Tudors and European reformation, and then did a MA in Museum Studies. After finishing my degree I worked for the Northamptonshire Council as a children’s librarian for the district but realised I wanted to work in education, so I took a position as a school librarian in local state school where I learnt a lot.

What do you enjoy most about your subject?

I love the moment that pupils discover their love of reading and want to tell you about the book that they have just read.

What do you enjoy most about Stowe?

The environment that I get to work in-  not many school libraries look like Stowe.

What is your favourite lesson?

Reading lessons, where pupils are given free time to read and discover the books the library has to offer.

What do others say about you?

Hard working; motivated; willing to help; and loves to talk about Tudors.

Other hats at Stowe

I am a tutor in Nugent.

Passions

Travel, photography and rock climbing, but horse riding is my main passion and it is what I do before and after work. I have spent all my life around horses and I have been competing since the age of three in showing. It has taken me across the country and I have been extremely lucky to have competed at the Horse of the Year Show many times, including four wins, most recently in 2018 with my Fell pony.
