Life before Stowe

Half Kurdish and originally from Bolton, I studied Geology and Planetary Science at the University of Manchester gaining my Masters there in 2017. I then went on to do my PGCE and, after having done my PGCE in inner-city state schools around Manchester, I found it wasn't for me and hence made the move to Stowe.

What do you enjoy most about your subject?

How an understanding of physics can explain everything around us from the most mundane things to the most interesting. It is often very easy to get deep into a complex but interesting discussion in physics.

What do you enjoy most about Stowe?

The setting and the aesthetics of the main house, temples and follies are particularly nice.

What is your favourite lesson?

Anything within the Astrophysics units, you have to love space! I also love to teach the structure of the Earth as it speaks to the geologist within me.

What do others say about you?

Hopefully nothing too bad. Driven, strong-willed, trustworthy

Other hats

I enjoy sports particularly boxing and football. I also teach some chemistry too which breaks up certain days. Before Stowe I also twice stood in the local elections back in Bolton before moving, which was definitely a fun experience!

Passions

Politics, Middle Eastern geopolitics, physics (obviously), sport and geology. Some of the best summers are spent doing geological mapping in the sun!
