Life before Stowe

Prior to joining Stowe, I began my career at Hurst College teaching Biology, coaching Hockey and was the Equestrian Team Manager.

I was educated at the University of Edinburgh where I studied Biomedical Sciences specialising in Reproductive Biology.

What do you enjoy most about your subject?

The variety of topics that we get to teach from Gas Exchange to Genetics. The Heart, to Biochemistry, to Reproduction.

What do you enjoy most about Stowe?

I love how beautiful the Stowe Estate is- we are very lucky to work in such a vast and striking place. There is always something exciting going on whether that is in School or linked to the National Trust or Stowe Preservation Trust. Being able to go for a walk round the grounds at any time of the day or year is delightful.

What is your favourite Lesson?

My favourite lesson has to be a dissection. We are lucky enough to be able to do lots of dissections here at Stowe. I’m not sure I have a favourite though: the heart, lungs, fish gills, the eye!

Other hats

I coach the U15A girls and boys hockey teams in the Michaelmas and Lent terms and in the Summer term I am part of the Athletics coaching team. Another role that I have at Stowe is the Assistant House Parent of West.

Passions

I play Premier League hockey for Buckingham HC, dabble in Triathlons and ran the London Marathon in 2021. Outside of my sporting hobbies I enjoy cooking, reading and socialising with friends and family.
