Life before Stowe

After training and working as a teacher I took a break to work for a few years in the corporate world as Marketing Director for a mergers and acquisitions house. The pull back to teaching was too strong though so I returned to teaching English in 2011 and have not looked back since; teaching is definitely my passion.

What do you enjoy most about your subject?

I enjoy the “unlocking” of a text; that moment when something suddenly clicks and you begin to make sense of it. The different interpretations that can come from one text and the discussion and debate that this allows.

What do you enjoy most about Stowe?

Fabulous surroundings, family atmosphere, friendly staff and wonderful pupils and always so much going on!

What is your favourite Lesson?

When we all climb onto the desks and shout lines from The Tempest whilst using our bodies to create the rocking ship as it is driven to Prospero’s Island.
