Charlotte Calland

Life before Stowe 

I was Head of Netball and Teacher of Physical Education for 11 years at Leicester Grammar School. 

Alongside that I was Chair of Governors at a local Primary School, Football Club committee member responsible for the kit and equipment for 19 teams and heavily involved with the youth set up at our local cricket club. 

What do you enjoy most about your subject? 

Teaching pupils practical skills to create and run their own businesses. 

What do you enjoy most about Stowe? 

The many co-curricular opportunities for Staff and pupils to participate in. Helping young athletes to reach their potential. Working in such an incredible building and setting is a ‘pinch me’ moment everyday.  

What is your favourite Lesson? 

For Business Studies it would have to be teaching marketing, it allows pupils to be both creative and analytical. 

In Sports Science, planes of motion with Jelly Babies is always a crowd pleaser! 

What do others say about you? 

Organised and efficient.

Passions 

Hotpod Yoga, Horse Riding and less sporty hobbies of baking and gardening.
