Life before Stowe

I graduated from the Royal Agricultural University with a first-class degree in International Equine Business Management. My career has taken me from riding school to competition yards through to working in a world class rehabilitation centre in Kentucky, USA. Recently I have worked across the UK supporting farmers with business planning and resilience.

A highlight of my riding came in New Zealand where I trained young horses and competed in National Endurance Championship Competitions, riding 80km races across beautiful countryside.

What do you enjoy most about your subject?

Equestrianism is not just a sport, with disciplines ranging from dressage to jumping to polo, it also involves a relationship between a horse and its rider. This relationship can provide numerous personal capabilities, including compassion, dedication and drive, all important skills for the future.

What do you enjoy most about Stowe?

I live onsite with my husband who is Head of Athletic Development, so I love the community created by all the staff, residents and pupils. But my favourite part of Stowe is the amazing grounds, which I love to walk around with my two dogs.

What do others say about you?

I’m always smiling and love to get my hands dirty!

Passions

I am passionate about horses and am fortunate that this has allowed me to travel the world to work and ride them. As well as horses, I am very passionate about animals and farming especially supporting the British agricultural industry and rare breeds. I have worked on a number of farms, have a British Wool qualification in sheep shearing and have owned a number of rare breed animals, including my two Sealyham terriers.
