Life before Stowe
I taught for four years in Buckingham, including a year supporting new maths teachers through their training, as a subject tutor at the Buckingham Partnership.
What do you enjoy most about your subject?
Studying mathematics allows students to refine strategies for problem solving, reasoning and analysis; all of which are applicable to the world around us.
What do you enjoy most about Stowe?
The ethos at Stowe encourages students to seek out challenging questions. Both inside and out of the classroom, Stoics are ambitious in all they undertake.
What is your favourite lesson?
All of the lessons in which I learn new things too; there are often many different methods for reaching the correct answer, and it’s always thought-provoking when you stumble across new applications.
What do others say about you?
I would like to think that others would say I’m efficient, hard-working and committed, but they may have other things to say instead!
I’m a tutor in Grenville house, assist with the Duke of Edinburgh award, and rock climbing.
I enjoy running, cycling and hill-walking, and I’m the lead volunteer for a charity that provides outdoor activities for young people in North Oxfordshire.
