Rowena graduated from University College London with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, following a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Sydney. She has worked on varying scales of buildings from stadiums and infrastructure works to detailing a flat for a physically impaired client. Over the course of her career, Rowena has worked for some of the biggest names in architecture: Sir Denys Lasdun (National Theatre) and Sir Nicholas Grimshaw; where Rowena was part of the team working on the Mies van der Rohe Award winning Waterloo International Terminal. Rowena’s architectural career took her to Malaysia, Australia and Thailand, where she was part of a design team working on stadiums and infrastructures works, before returning to the UK to set up her own practice.

Rowena is currently a Director at Yabsley Stevens Architects in London and her interests include listed buildings and, in particular, sustainability in the built environment. Rowena draws on her 30 years of experience to design and retrofit buildings and undertakes building fabric performance data analysis to tailor best return on investment for clients who are interested in improving their carbon footprint.

In her spare time Rowena enjoys long distance hiking and in her holidays can be found either dangling from the side of a mountain or scrambling up sand dunes. She is the proud parent of two daughters: a Trinity College Dublin History graduate and her second is studying medicine at the University of Bristol.
