Life before Stowe

I joined the Stowe sports staff in April 2015 coaching swimming, strength & conditioning training and netball. Prior to Stowe, I coached in the age group swimming sector, taking swimmers to national age group status, some even reaching Commonwealth and Olympic trials. I am also a Sports Therapist, so am often found fixing the pains of the pupils and staff!

What do you enjoy most about your subject?

Sports are fun and it is great to see the joy on pupils faces when they do well.

What do you enjoy most about Stowe?

I love driving up the magnificent drive and turning in front of the Mansion. I have to pinch myself that “I work here”! I work with such a wide range of people from all walks of life, it makes each day special.

What is your favorite Lesson?

My favorite lessons are the ones where the pupils have been working on a particular aspect and it suddenly all comes together. To see the smiles of personal achievement is all you need as a coach.

Passions

I have three sporty children and adore watching them take part in their individual sports. We spend most weekends at some match or gala! I am a keen participant in the Stowe DofE programme, in 2016 I spent five days wild camping in the Cairngorms with the Gold Expedition, it was great to spend a few days with no technology. I love being creative and spend my spare time cooking and sewing.
