Stowe 100 Racing Club: Flat Team

Grasshopper Time

Grasshopper Time (NH) New Horse for the 100 Club

This good looking son of Califet has raced three times to date and improved with each run. Most eye-catchingly finishing a good second in a maiden hurdle at Tranmore in early October.

He is out of a winning dam who has produced some of the top class performers in Colour Squadron who was a 150 rated chaser owned by the legendary J P McManus in his prime and finished second at the Cheltenham Festival, as well as Milan Native who did score at the Festival in the Kim Muir Amateur Riders Chase back in 2020 for the powerful Gordon Elliott and Gigginstown Stud team.

GT is ready to run and will be aimed at 2m-2m 5f novice hurdles to begin with. He turns six in January 2024 and we believe we have managed to acquire a ready-made horse with proven form who could be quite exciting!

Catalan King (Flat)

Catalan King

Catalan King has certainly pleased Ed Bethell with his progress this Summer, despite not being ready to make a racecourse appearance.

We felt it was sensible to give him more time to show his worth and so he will be brought back in the Spring with a view to running in one mile plus races.

Ed remains excited about his prospects and we are confident the wait will be worth if for you all when he finally makes his 100 Club debut. CK is owned in partnership with former Stowe parent and music mogul Chris Wright who helped bands such as Blondie, Spandau Ballet and Ultravox soar to great heights - the 100 Club is thrilled to be in partnership with Chris.

Way of Life

Way of Life

Way of Life has been so consistent for us over the past year, having previously having been off with a small leg injury.

He wears his heart on his sleeve and raced with much promise during Summer 2023, twice finishing second and twice finishing third. in just seven races.

His handicap rating has nudged up to 80, which will make life more difficult for him but he is a wonderful horse and I am sure he will more than pay his way mixing all weather over the Winter and grass races in the Spring.
