How to Apply

Please click on the apply now link on the vacancy you are interested in, this will take you to an online application form, which will be submitted to the People Team.  For Teaching roles you must submit an application form. For non-teaching roles, if you have submitted a curriculum vitae (CV) and are shortlisted you will be required to complete a Stowe Group application form and bring this with you to your interview.  

How will I know if my application has been successful?

We endeavour to contact all applicants within three weeks of the vacancy closing date to advise the outcome of their application. Unfortunately, due to the high number of requests we receive we are unable to provide individual feedback to applicants not invited to interview.

Interviews

Reasonable adjustments can be requested at interview stage if you have a disability/health condition which may impact on your ability to perform at an interview. Please make sure that you make the People team aware in advance of your interview should any reasonable adjustments be needed.

Candidates will be asked both technical / competency-based questions related to the job description and person specification during an interview. All shortlisted applicants will be asked safeguarding questions at interview to assess their suitability to work with children.

Online background checks 

As part of the shortlisting process, the School will carry out an online search on shortlisted candidates only as part of its due diligence. This may help to identify any incidents or issues that have happened, and are publicly available online. This forms part of the School’s wider safeguarding due diligence.

What will happen if I am successful following my interview?

A member of the People team will be in contact if it is decided that an offer of employment is to be made. Offers of employment will usually be made over the telephone, with a formal offer letter and contract being sent via email. All offers of employment with The Stowe Group are conditional and subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks.

When will you request my references?

Should you be invited to attend an interview at The Stowe Group for a teaching post, your referees will be contacted prior to your interview and the provided references will form part of the selection process. For non-teaching roles, references will be taken up at the earliest opportunity as this forms part of your pre-employment checks. If for any reason references cannot be take up immediately post offer, you must advise the People team.

What will happen if I am unsuccessful following the interview stage

A member of the People team will be in contact via email if you have been unsuccessful following your interview. You can request feedback from the hiring manager who conducted the interview.

Safeguarding

The Stowe Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all colleagues and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post including reference checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

 All positions at our School’s are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, therefore ALL convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings (including those which would normally be considered 'spent' under the Act) MUST be declared, subject to the DBS filtering rules. All information given will be treated as confidential and each case will be taken on its merits. Failure to disclose this information may result in the withdrawal of an offer of employment or immediate termination of employment.
