Charity Work

The school’s motto, Non Nobis Solum, translates as Not for ourselves alone, and community and charity work is a big part of Winchester House school. Every year we choose a charity and the school comes together to raise money for a good cause, from the youngest pupils in Pre-Prep to the Year 8s at the top of Upper School.

As a community, we know many of us are more fortunate than many others around the world, and the school was founded on the philosophy that our pupils should go out into the world and make a change for the better.

From the regular national activities like Children in Need and Comic Relief, to one off fundraising events, like staff walks and running relays covering thousands of miles, every member of the Winchester House community gets involved in the fun!

In previous years we have raised money for local charities, including Katharine House Hospice and Helen and Douglas House, and most recently the Banbury Young Homelessness Project.

You can read about some of our latest fundraising activities in our news pages.

Not only does fundraising fit with our school motto and develop a sense of being part of something bigger than ourselves, it also builds creativity and encourages children to find ways to raise funds. Most of all, it’s huge fun!
