About the event

Throughout April and May, forty-nine secondary school students from four local schools visited Stowe House for a day, to learn about its' history and to take part in a series of creative workshops. The workshops focused on three key themes: portraits and identity, architecture, and restoration. The secondary school students focused on the historical relevancy of these themes in relation to Stowe House, as well as how these themes have been interpreted by contemporary artists.

Open Arts Exhibition 2024 will showcase the artworks created by the young artists, inspired as a result of these visits. Set against the ornate backdrop of the State Library at Stowe House, the exhibition will run for public viewing from 16 July-31 August.

Normal House admission applies. To make things a little easier, pre-book your admission tickets and you can arrange parking which is close to the house via a separate entrance to Stowe.

As a small independent charity, your visit helps us to look after this special place for everyone to enjoy and your support is greatly appreciated.
