Our regional representative for the South West, Andrew Thomson (Temple 65), has kindly offered to host a gathering of Old Stoics at his family’s boat yard on Sandbanks, on Thursday 7 July 2022. The day will begin with drinks at their Boat Yard’s Pavilion, followed by a boat trip around Poole Harbour. After returning to dry land, guests will walk to Rick Stein for a three-course lunch.

All Old Stoics living within easy reach of Poole are warmly invited to attend, friends and guests are welcome. We are hopeful that the Headmaster, Dr Anthony Wallersteiner, will be in attendance. There are 25 places available, tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please note, tickets for this event sold out extremely quickly in 2019 so book soon to avoid disappointment. Ample secure parking is available at the Boat Yard, so classic cars are welcome for those who wish to bring them.

Itinerary

11.00am               Arrival at the Boat Yard, coffee in the Pavilion

11.30am               Poole Harbour boat trips

1.30pm                Lunch at Rick Stein

3.00pm                More boat trips, walking on the beach

4.00pm                Afternoon tea at the Boat Yard Pavilion

Tickets are £40 per person, to include coffee on arrival, a three-course lunch at Rick Stein (choices will be requested in advance) and afternoon tea. The Old Stoic Society will cover the costs of drinks during the lunch. We only have 4 tickets remaining for this event, so please telephone the OS Office to purchase: 01280 818349.

The Boat Yard is about 70 metres level walking distance to and from Rick Stein's Restaurant.
