Purpose of the job 

For September 2024 we are looking to appoint Gap Student’s to join Winchester House School. We are looking to fill the following roles:

Role 1 – Gapper, this is intended to be filled by students who have completed their A-level or equivalent examinations and maybe taking a gap year before further studies.

Role 2 – Musician in Residence, this is essentially a Gapper role to be filled by a student who has completed their A-Level or equivalent and has a specialism in Music.

Role 3 – Graduate Gapper, a Graduate student who has finished university.

This is an exciting opportunity for those who will be completing A-Levels or have just graduated and wanting to take a Gap year or those who are considering a career working with children and looking to gain valuable experience in a school environment prior to university.

The role of the Gap student is to support staff and pupils in lessons and duties involved in working in a busy boarding school environment. A Gapper will be able to provide support in core subjects and have an enthusiasm for co-curricular activities, whether drama, music or sport. Experience of coaching, training or mentoring would be an advantage, however this role involves embracing, with enthusiasm and a professional approach the range of opportunities available in the School setting.
