Job Overview
Stowe is looking to appoint an outstanding Deputy Head (Pastoral) and Designated Safeguarding Lead from September 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Stowe’s Executive Leadership Team. The successful candidate will play a significant leadership role in the School and contribute to all aspects of School leadership, management, strategy and development. This post would suit someone with successful experience of pastoral leadership in a predominantly co-educational boarding school and who is now aspiring to further their career, and possibly to pursue Headship in due course.
The Deputy Head (Pastoral) and Designated Safeguarding Lead will have wide-ranging responsibilities: the main priority of this role is to maintain high pastoral and safeguarding standards across the whole School, working closely with Houseparents in both boarding and day houses to ensure that pupils flourish and reach their potential. The Deputy Head (Pastoral) and DSL needs to be empathetic, kind, flexible and forward thinking, and able to inspire others by example in delivering excellent pastoral care.
