Hours: Teaching members of the Leadership Group are expected in school from 8am to 6pm every day during term time and until 7pm once a week at least.
Salary: The exact point on the Stowe Group Scale will be determined by the experience of the applicant
Anticipated start date: Required for September 2023

Job Overview
We are excited to announce a new position within our Senior Leadership team for Deputy Head Pastoral and Boarding. This is a key role in the management of Winchester House school, its development and improvement for the future, ensuring our continual drive for excellence each step of the way.
You will have overall responsibility for the management and development of the School’s pastoral care and pupil well-being, to ensure that pupils at Winchester House continue to receive excellent care. You will be the House Parent for the Boys House living in the Boarding House and assisted by an Assistant House Parent and strong boarding team. You will lead on our visionary project to upgrade and revitalise our boarding, taking overall responsibility for the development of boarding including our upcoming capital project into a thriving, flexible, occasional and weekly co-ed boarding house. You will be a key contributor in delivering change.
You will provide strong leadership within the SLT and may be required to deputise for the Head, Head of Pre Prep and other Deputy Heads as required and attend all relevant evening/weekend events and a number of social events throughout the year. You will be the Designated Lead for Safeguarding and be the main point of contact for parents with pastoral concerns that have been passed on from the Heads of Section.
As an individual you will have strong communication skills and pride yourself on professional integrity. You will have an enthusiasm for the holistic education that a Prep School education should provide, ensuring the needs of the pupil always come first. You will have a strong understanding and a clear vision of what outstanding pastoral care should look like and have the passion and drive to deliver this to Winchester House School.
