The Annual Stowe Putter, the Premier National Prep School Golf Competition is now open.

We look forward to welcoming you to the event at Stowe on Sunday 17 May 2026.

Format
The format of the competition will be 9 holes in the morning, followed by a second 9 holes in the afternoon. Please be  advised that parents/guardians/school staff must remain with their son/daughter/pupil for the duration of the event.

Normal rules of golf apply. The Tournament Director will have the final say in any area of dispute.

The Stowe Putter 
Open to all prep school golfers age 13 (Year 8) and under on 1 September 2026. Stableford score over 18 holes.

The Junior Jigger
Open to all prep school golfers age 11 (Year 6) and under on 1 September 2026. Stableford score over 18 holes.

The Longest Drive
Played on the 5^th hole in the afternoon. The ball must be on the fairway. The winner is the golfer whose ball is furthest from the tee.

Closest to the Pin
Played on the 2^nd hole in the afternoon. The ball must be on the green. The winner is the golfer whose ball lands nearest to the pin.

Team Competition
Whilst the Stowe Putter is primarily an individual event, the Team Competition provides added interest. Teams of three competitors, with the best two scores from each school counting.

Cost
Entry to The Stowe Putter competition is £45 per person. This covers the cost of entry, prizes and refreshments for the competitor and one accompanying adult.

A maximum of 2 guests per competitor may book refreshments at £15 per person.

Entry may be purchased for more than one competitor at a time.

• Entries are taken on a first come first served basis (to a maximun 72 competitors).
• A maximum entry of six golfers per school may enter. Extra golfers may be placed on a waiting list and will be allocated entry if there are spare spaces after the closing date.
• In the event that the competition is oversubscribed and places become available, a ballot will take place for those on the waiting list.

The closing date for entries is Wednesday 29 April.
Tee times will be released Friday 1 May. 

Practice rounds can be booked through our Golf Professional. Practice rounds are available on Saturday 2 & 9 May and Sunday 3 & 10 May, after 1pm. Please contact Dusan Gavrilovic to arrange a tee time.

Please purchase the required number of entries and when prompted add the competitors name in the attendee field, along with the email address of the person who is completing and submitting that competitors’ entry form.

Please note, entry will only be confirmed once the completed form has been received by Stowe and acknowledged.
