Stowe will be seen as the ‘go-to’ destination for budding engineers, designers and architects

The Howden Design Technology & Engineering Centre

The Howden Design Technology & Engineering Centre opened in early 2025, marking a transformative milestone in Stowe’s creative and technical education.

Purpose-built to inspire the next generation of engineers, designers and architects, this state-of-the-art facility features innovative design studios with cutting-edge technology including laser cutters and 3D printers.

Martin Quinn, Head of Design and Technology, explains the significance of this fantastic new facility:

"The new DT&E building has transformed the way our students learn. While we’ve always had excellent tools and machinery, the new workshops are brighter, more vibrant, and provide an inspiring space where students can create and showcase their work. Most excitedly, we’re now able to offer a BTEC in Engineering right here at Stowe – a significant step forward.”

We are immensely proud of our magnificent new facility and profoundly grateful to everyone who generously donated towards this project. The Howden Design, Technology & Engineering Centre would not exist without the vision and generosity of its donors – thank you. With this inspiring space, we look forward to nurturing even more young talent into the creative arts.
