Equestrian Activities

The Head of Equestrian ensures a varied schedule is created on a weekly basis which is flexible around academic and extracurricular commitments. Pupils will be encouraged to work on flat work, jumping (if desired), as well as hacking to improve strength, stamina and skills.

Staff are on hand to support pupils with all aspects of equine care and management in order to promote an enjoyable, challenging and safe environment for both horse and rider.

Training

  • Show-jumping, dressage and eventing is offered at Stowe.

  • Lessons are offered individually or for up to four pupils at a time.

Our riders also regularly take part in affiliated and unaffiliated competitions across the country.

Equestrian Welfare

All aspects of equine welfare are co-ordinated by the Head of Equestrian to ensure your horse is always receiving the highest level of care.

We work closely with Buckingham Equine Vets, a multi-award winning independently owned veterinary practice, who are dedicated to providing the very highest standard of care. They are a dedicated equine specific team, all with many years experience in treating horses.

Our farrier attends the Equestrian Centre on a weekly basis.

We also work with physiotherapists, chiropractors, saddle-fitters and other Equestrian specialists.

Leadership

At Stowe we believe that our people play a crucial role in the development of our pupils.

Our Equestrian Centre is led by an experienced Head of Equestrian who supports our riders to achieve their goals.

With outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, our team works with the School, pupils, Parents and other stakeholders to ensure a first-class experience.
