10:00-10:30 OPENING KEYNOTE ADDRESS

Opening speeches about the global picture of climate change today by John Sauven (Director of Greenpeace UK), Mikaela Loach and Noga Levy Rapoport.

10:30-12:00 MOCK COP 26

World Climate Simulation - an in-person role-playing exercise of the UN climate change negotiations. Through the simulation, participants work on groups to explore the necessary speed and level of action that nations must take to address global climate change. At the heart of the experience is an interactive computer model which is used to rapidly analyse the results of the game play.

12:05-12:20 NEIL AGIUS

Students will hear Neil Agius talk about his cross mediterrean swim to raise awareness of ocean plastics. We are delighted that during the day we will also be showing a film about his challenge on screens around the event.

12:20-13:30 CREATING A ZERO-WASTE LUNCH WITH MAX LA MANNA

Interactive food waste activity run by celebrity chef, Max La Manna. Attendees will work along Max, a Zero waste chef and host on BBC Earth food shows, students will make their own lunch. 

13:30-14:00 'MY CARBON CALCULATOR'

A self-guided session using the new interactive digital tool, "My 2050 Carbon Calculator", run by the Royal Geographical Society, to understand how the UK can achieve its target of Carbon Net Zero by 2050. 

14:00-14:30 VIRTUAL REALITY CLIMATE

Students will have the opportunity to use Virtual Reality headsets to help visualise some of the impacts of climate change around the world. 

14:30-15:20 'WHAT DOES CARBON NET ZERO LOOK LIKE FOR US?'

Workshop around the theme "What does Carbon Net Zero look like for us? - How can I/my school achieve this?"

15:30-16:30 INTERVIEW WITH MICHAELA STRACHAN

Stowe’s Head, Dr Anthony Wallersteiner will interview TV presenter Michaela Strachan about her career and her thoughts about the impact of the climate crisis on the natural world.

16:30-17:30 CLOSING PANEL DISCUSSION

Featuring John Sauven (Greenpeace) and Sir Ed Davey MP (Leader of the Liberal Democrats).

EVENING EVENTS

Attendance at the evening events is optional - all attendees are welcome to stay to enjoy the concert.

17:45-18:45 THE 2021 CLIMATE CHANGE CONCERT

Food trucks will be available for attendees to purchase dinner (Carbon Net Zero companies, sustainably sourced food that's vegetarian or vegan), and the audience will enjoy live music to mark the end of the event.
