The Winton Cup 2022

We are delighted that your school has reserved a space to attend our Prep School Humanities Competition, The Winton Cup on Tuesday 17 May 2022.

This year’s Winton Cup will have the theme ‘Climate Ambition’ and our Guest Speaker will be Dr Amy Munro-Faure who is the Sustainability Coordinator at Cambridge University. Dr Munro-Faure has worked as a Research Assistant at the Royal Society, and the Zoological Society of London. She recently spoke at COP 26 at the launch of the ActNowFilm.

Participants in the day will engage with various humanities subjects to begin to appreciate how, through exploration of the humanities, we can learn to think creatively about climate issues. It is hoped that some of your most gifted pupils will therefore benefit from this educational experience at the School.

The day is aimed particularly at Year 6 pupils. Teams of six to ten can enter.

An element of competition is introduced to encourage active participation by all pupils and the contest is named in honour of Old Stoic, Sir Nicholas Winton MBE. His bravery and courage are fine examples of the humanistic principles that we should be encouraging in our pupils.
