Old Stoics qualify for Grafton Morrish Finals

After a gap of three years the Old Stoics have qualified for the Grafton Morrish Finals played at Hunstanton and Brancaster in early October. Haydn Brooks, David Johnstone, Sean Morris, Charlie Gartside, William Waddell-Dudley and Ian Bendell scored 72 points in scratch foursomes stableford at North Hants GC.
The Old Stoic Golfing Society took on the Stowe Templars led by Tom Sleater at Deal on 21st May. In a fiercely competitive match the Templars led 2.5 to 0.5 at lunchtime but the Golfers fought back in the afternoon with wins for David Ewbank and Peter Simmons over Tom Sleater and Charlie Saunders, a half for Haydn Brooks and Hamish Edwards against William Waddell-Dudley and Adam Cossins and a clinching win for Don Jeffreys over Hugo Douglass in the final match.
