Topper Thornton 2nd

5 November 2017

The Old Stoic Racing Club Horse, Topper Thornton, made his debut on Sunday, in the 2.30pm Cumberland Handicap Chase at Carlisle. He came in second and missed out on first by a head.

Topper travelled superbly and jumped accurately, calmly picking his way through the field to land upsides the eventual winner at the last and to be beaten by an agonising short head. He was giving the winner 12lbs in weight. There is certainly a mixture of pride and excitement tinged with a little frustration that we couldn't finish first.

All in all a very promising debut for the Old Stoic Racing Club.

A very LARGE well done and thank you to Alex, Sally, Charlotte who looks after Topper and all of the team at Edgecote. We have an exciting season ahead of us that is for sure. Click here to watch the race:

Lastly, we do have a handful of shares left so after today please spread the word about the Club and Topper. We would love to have a few more people involved to complete the Club.
