Richard Branson Flies to the Edge of Space

12 July 2021

Stowe Ambition knows no limits - we can take our dreams anywhere.

Sir Richard Branson (Cobham/Lyttelton 68) has become the first privateer to go to space.

His dream as a young child, to build a space rocket that would allow him to float in space, was realised yesterday (Sunday 11 July 2021) when his Virgin Galactic Space Ship ‘Unity 22’ successfully completed its mission to break the earth’s atmosphere.

Whilst looking back at earth, Sir Richard said, “To the next generation of dreamers, if we can do this, just imagine what you can do”.  What an inspiration for all Stoics!

Sir Richard is the first independent person to travel space and is a wonderful example of the ambition, entrepreneurship and independent spirit of Old Stoics.

Congratulations Richard – Stowe and The Old Stoic Society salute you!
