OSGS v Old Haileyburians

The Old Stoics lost their unbeaten 2015 match record in the last fixture of the year.
The Old Haileyburians are the strongest team we play and so it proved again in 2015 with them winning for the fifth year in succession.
 
The match was delayed for an hour by heavy fog at Sunningdale and even then visibility was very restricted for the first nine holes. In most of the matches Haileybury had a fast start, none more so than the opponents of Charles Dimpfl and Nigel Randall who won the first eight holes. However Charles and Nigel fought back to win the next five holes to gain respectability.
 
The final match score was 5.5 to Old Haileyburians and 0.5 to the Old Stoics with Charlie Gartside and James Fortescue the only pair to avoid defeat.  Despite the score Peter Comber’s team enjoyed the match and the excellent Sunningdale lunch afterwards. The OSGS will come back stronger next year to push the opposition harder.
