OSGS Spring Meeting
2 May 2017
19 golfers attended the Spring Meeting held at a Wisteria in full bloom Woking Golf Club. In the morning singles competitions there were plenty of good scores - Charlie Saunders won the Memorial Bowl (2017 is its 70th Anniversary) with 39 points with Paul McSweeney a close second on 38 points while Angus Campbell led the scratch competition with a 76 that just beat Chris Luddington's 77. OSGS debutant, Josh Wheeler, won the Foster Salver (for those under 30) with 38 points. In the afternoon foursomes the youngsters Josh Wheeler and Freddie Elliott were clear winners with 37 points with David Ewbank and Paul McSweeney second. Thanks to meeting manager and Captain Nick Luddington for a great day and to Woking Golf Club for their usual excellent hospitality.
The next OSGS meeting is at Aldeburgh on July 1 and 2. This is a great weekend which players' wives, husbands and partners are encouraged to attend. For more information contact Peter Simmons at firstname.lastname@example.org
