We have six more fixtures in the 2019 season and need extra players for three of them.

RESULT

31st August Match v Old Gregorians at New Zealand:

Ian Bendell led his team of Tom Sleater, Ben Robinson (OSGS debut), David Ewbank, Hugo Douglass, Charles Dimpfl and William Hill to a convincing 4-2 win over opposition who only fielded 6 players. Well done to Ian for getting a full team together and winning.

FIXTURES

11th September Match v The School at Stoke Park:

An afternoon match against the School courtesy of Chester King at the impressive Stoke Park. An encouragingly youthful team of Alex Saary, Ollie Clarke, James Nash, Hugo Douglass, Sol Boyd (OSGS debut) and Brennan Gough (OSGS debut) will provide stiff opposition for the School team. 

14th September Match v 2009 Leavers at Stowe: 2 more players needed

The Society has been challenged by the 2009 Leavers to a match at Stowe on Old Stoic Day when there are special reunions for those who left 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years ago. The challenge has been accepted and so far Hugo Douglass, Hannah Durden, Charles Dimpfl, Peter Simmons, Jaideep Gulab (OSGS debut) and Alim Jinnah (OSGS debut) are down to play but two more needed

'Farewell to the Old Course' on Saturday 28th September 2019: Four places now available 

Following some drop outs we have four places available. 

Up to 40 players will compete for prizes including Best House, Best Stableford, Best Scratch and Best Lady. Grafton and Lyttleton need extra players to make up House  teams of three. Shot Gun start from 10.00am followed by lunch in the Blue Room at the School. Cost including coffee/tea, lunch, drinks and prizes will be £50 with discount for under 30s. Full details to all entrants in the next week.

Reminder to existing entrants: Please pay entry fee as per my email of 4th August and thank you to the 18 entrants who have already paid.

12-13th October Dick Watson Trophy at Aldeburgh:

Jeremy Scowsill will be leading the team that includes William Hill, Ian Bendell and Nigel Wright. Competing against 14 other Schools over three rounds of foursomes Stowe have an excellent record in this event.

12-13th October Autumn Meeting at Brancaster: Sold Out

A mixture of singles and foursomes over the weekend. 19 have entered including David Ewbank, Neil Gray, Jack Scott, Adam Carling, Ollie Carr, Peter Simmons, Francis Law, John Da Silva, Lorne Williamson, Tim Maynard, Jim Marshall-Andrew, Jeremy Cave, Mark Henderson, Charlie Consett, Angus Campbell, Mark Flawn Thomas and Nick, Chris and John Luddington. The AGM of the OSGS is on Saturday evening with the election of a new President and Vice Captain on the Agenda (attached) this year. 

10th November Match v Haileybury at Sunningdale: One or two places available

The last fixture of the year is at Sunningdale against Haileybury. A friendly match played on a great course followed by an excellent lunch. Peter Comber peter.comber@parkasset.com already has Stewart McNair, Nick Luddington, Nick Rice, David Ewbank, John Da Silva, Jack Scott, Josh Wheeler and Andrew Hinds down to play but room for a couple more.
