Birkdale Bucket 60th Anniversary Event at Ilkley: 9 June
Your Captain, Nick Luddington, Northern Secretary, Charles Consett and Secretary represented the OSGS at this Anniversary competition at Ilkley GC.
Charles achieved a respectable score.

Cyril Gray at Worplesdon: 22-24 June
Stewart McNair and his team of David Julius, Martyn Palmer, Peter Jarvis, Tony Edgeley and Simon Chilton defeated St Pauls 2-1 with the winning point coming from Jarvis and Edgeley on the 19th. Against Ampleforth despite another win for debutant Peter Jarvis playing with Simon Chilton,Stewart McNair and Peter Simmons were always down leaving David Julius and Martyn Palmer to battle back to square on the 18th. Unfortunately the 19th proved less successful and the team were defeated

Match v USA Swifts at Sunningdale: 30 June
Peter Comber combined with the Stowe Golf Professional, Andrew Hancox, to field a combined Stoic/Old Stoic team to take on the might of the USA Swifts
touring team. Previous GB Swifts tourists, Hayden Brooks and Stewart McNair were supported by Sunningdale members, Stephen Wilcox and Simon Chilton and
six Stoic golfers. The  USA Swifts were comfortable winners but the match helped get Stowe back on the Swifts circuit and with the strength of golf at the School
on the up we look forward to Stowe supplying GB Swifts representatives in the years to come.

Summer Meeting at Aldeburgh: 1 & 2 July
A select group enjoyed an excellent Summer Meeting well organised as ever by Perry Hunt. The OSGS convincingly won the warm up match against the club on
the Friday afternoon. The singles competition on Saturday saw Chris Luddington win the prestigious Buchanan Trophy on count back from Jeremy Scowsill who
had the best stableford score of 31 as consolation. Jeremy then combined brilliantly with William Hill to score 37 points in the Sunday foursomes to win both the
Chatham and Choyce trophies
