OS Oxbridge Dinner
1 November 2018
On the evening of Thursday 1 November, we hosted, at the invitation of Dr Milla Marinova (Lyttelton 03), the OS Oxbridge Dinner at the Oxford and Cambridge Club, on Pall Mall.
The evening began with a Drinks Reception in the Upper Drawing Room. We then moved to the beautiful Princess Marie Louise Room for a delicious Three Course Dinner. The ambience of the surroundings added to the evening and created a very enjoyable atmosphere.
This year, Master in Charge of Oxbridge Applications at Stowe, Wing Commander Jon Murnane, was invited to attend along with 12 Stoics, whom had just completed their applications and exams for their preferred Oxbridge destination.
Once dinner had been served, Dr Milla Marinova, thanked everyone for coming and introduced Wing Commander Jon Murnane. Jon provided an interesting and entertaining speech, giving our guests an insight in to how the application process has evolved since some of our older Old Stoics joined these prestigious institutions and gave details of the illustrious subjects that the Stoics wish to study.
The success of the evening was evident, with Old Stoics and Stoics seated according to their subject studied and courses applied for, everyone was able to provide their own Oxbridge experiences and swap wonderful stories, as well as offer professional assistance and guidance in the process.
With the age range of our guests, from as recent as Upper 6th Stoics to as far back as 1951, another entertaining and successful evening was enjoyed by all. We would like to thank all of our guests for joining us and send our best wishes to the Stoics with their applications.
