Tom Prendergast (Cobham 07) will be running the Marathon des Sables to raise money for Walking with the Wounded.

The marathon takes place from 7-17 April and has a reputation of being the Toughest Footrace on Earth: Thomas will run 6 marathons back to back. In just six days he will run over 250km (156 miles) through endless dunes, over rocky jebels, and across white-hot salt plains in the Sahara desert.

Tom writes,  "I’ve want to raise money and awareness for Walking With The Wounded. They finance new qualifications, education and training programmes for those who are injured, to help with their career transition. This enables the blind, the burn victims, the mentally injured, the amputees and all the other wounded to rebuild their lives and to return to the work place. We owe these young men and women so much for what they have done in our name and for our country.

I’ve met a number of the folks whose lives have been touched by this organisation’s amazing work. It has such an impact on everything they do in such a positive way. Please support WWTW."
