Valerie Wallersteiner (wife of the Headmaster) and Jess Carlisle, wife of Nick Janson (Chatham 95) have recently opened a new gallery space at 4 Mandeville Place, London W1U 2BF. With such strong Stowe connections, all Old Stoics are warmly invited to visit the Gallery and attend the Private View on Thursday 10 March, from 6.30 - 8.30pm.

They will open with Annodam, a solo exhibition by London based artist Katrina Blannin.

Blannin is known for her meticulous and seductive compositions that explore tonality and colour-play through variations of motifs or “patterns”. Her most recent work arises from her study of Piero della Francesca’s Madonna del Parto (c.1455-60). Examining its underlying geometric structure and particular chromatic properties, Blannin uses oppositional and complimentary colour relationships to highlight, balance and unbalance a series of symmetrical arrangements derived from Piero's fresco. The title Annodam – Madonna reversed – plays on the idea of transposition and transformation.
